ATLP Outstanding in Education Awards

School staff shine at outstanding awards ceremony

More than 100 outstanding staff and other guests from seven schools in Coleshill, Erdington and Four Oaks came together last week at an annual awards ceremony to celebrate excellence in education.

Hosted at Sutton Coldfield’s prestigious New Hall Hotel, staff and guests from the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership’s schools enjoyed an evening of dinner and prize-giving at the second ‘Outstanding in Education Awards’.

Staff from the multi-academy trust’s Arthur Terry, Coleshill and Stockland Green secondary schools and Brookvale, Hill West, Mere Green and Slade primary schools, attended the evening event. The awards aim to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution staff make to their learning communities.

Shortlisted nominees were voted for by their colleagues in a range of categories, including ‘Outstanding Teacher’ ‘Education Support and ‘Community Champion’ and recipients were invited on stage to receive their awards. The final prize of the evening ‘The Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Education’ was presented to one staff member, from each of the seven schools, who each accepted an award from their Headteachers.

 The evening began with an introduction by Tim Sewell, chair of the ATLP Trust Board, who welcomed guests to the awards and applauded the “immense contribution that the partnership has on the lives of children.” He added: “Together we are really making a difference with our activities.”

Interim CEO, Sally Taylor, who compered the event, spoke of the successful teamwork across the schools.  She said: “Thank you all and to the school communities that make up the ATLP, for your hard work and dedication – we will assure all our children’s futures.”

 

Richard Gill, CEO designate closed the event by thanking everybody for their dedication to education. He said: “All of our staff work incredibly hard to ensure our children receive the very best education. These awards are a snapshot of what is going on across all of our schools day in day out and we want to commend and acknowledge their invaluable commitment to the partnership and the communities they serve.

“It was a wonderful evening and many people contributed to its success. We are especially grateful to all of our sponsors who made this fantastic event possible.”

Year 11 Practice Interview Day

On Thursday 15^th October our Year 11 students took part in the school’s annual event of Practice Interview Day.  

For this, several employers had given up their time to support our students in developing their interviewing skills and help build their aspirations for the future.  Our students felt this event was particularly beneficial especially with such a crucial life changing time ahead.  They took feedback and considered this to support them with their future endeavours.  

We were so fortunate to have a wide range of employers from various fields of work such as West Midlands Police, Royal Bank of Scotland, The British Army, The Navy, Construction, National Health Service, Inspiring our Future, Colleges and School Liaisons from Birmingham Metropolitan College and Joseph Chamberlain, KPMG, MITIE, Local Government, Pilot IMS – training provider,  a School Head Teacher, a Community Governor, Mrs Hathaway and a Chair of Governors Mrs  Dawson.  





The feedback from the employers was extremely positive and all agreed that the students they interviewed were respectful and polite. We would like to thank these companies and their representatives and really look forward to welcoming them back to any future event Stockland Green School may hold.
